PM Narendra Modi Addresses Nation on Scrapping Articles 370 and 35A; says what will change in J&K!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today(August 8), three days after Articles 370 and 35A that provided some special provisions to Jammu & Kashmir were scrapped. He began his speech by saying that nullifying Article 370 of the constitution was a historic decision that fulfils the dreams of Sardar Patel, BR Ambedkar and crores of patriots.

Modi said Kashmiri people who were deprived of benefits from centre will not be left behind anymore. Daughters of Kashmir will now enjoy equal rights like any other woman across India. Government employees from J&K will now enjoy the same benefits as Government employees from other union territories. Government and Private firms will be encouraged to extend into J&K and Ladakh. Road and rail connectivity will get a boost along with airways.Tourism will be advanced. Education and healthcare will be boosted. The youth of the state will be nurtured in sports. Kashmir’s shawls and Ladakh’s herbal products will attract customers from worldwide. Bollywood, Tamil and Telugu film industries are requested to make use of beautiful shooting destinations in J&K.

He further said that Assembly elections will soon be conducted in J&K, expressing confidence that closer co-operation with the centre will put an end to terrorism and separatism in the region.
