Speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport, Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon. Radhakrishnan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a flower bloomed from fire. The BJP leader’s response came when asked about reports of Maoist’s plot to assassinate the Prime Minister.
“Prime Minister has come across several such threats before when he was a Chief Minister of Gujarat and worked in various capacities for the party,” he said. Radhakrishnan also added that the threat is a challenge to the nation. “We cannot take it lightly,” he said.
Pune police on Thursday informed a court that a plot to assassinate PM Modi has been revealed from a letter seized from a suspected Maoist. Police on Wednesday arrested five people for alleged links with the banned CPI-Maoist.
