PM Narendra Modi at Kochi, aerial survey of Kerala cancelled
Home > India newsKerala is bearing the brunt of one of the worst ever rains to hit the state. Over 82,000 people have been displaced from Kerala due to the floods. In just nine days, from August 8 to 17, 324 lives have been lost.
After attending the funeral of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's funeral, PM Narendra Modi reached Thiruvananthapuram on Friday night. An aerial survey of the State was planned on Saturday which was, however, cancelled due to the worse climatic conditions.
Modi is currently chairing a review meeting at a naval base in Kochi. The Kerala government will raise demands to the Centre for more relief funds. It is expected that he will have an aerial sortie before leaving for Delhi at 11 am.
