According to reports, at least five people were killed after a small chartered plane crashed into a construction site in Mumbai’s populated Ghatkopar area on Thursday afternoon. The plane was supposed to land at the Mumbai airport.


The deceased include two pilots and two maintenance engineers. Another man on the ground was killed in the incident. The Beechcraft King Air C90 took off from Juhu airport on a test flight, said Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).


The people on board the plane has been identified as Captain PS Rajput, Co-pilot Maria Zuberi, Aircraft Mechanical Engineer Surbhi, and Aircraft Technician Manish Pandey. Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu took to Twitter to inform that he has directed the DGCA to conduct a speedy investigation.
