The oil marketing companies slashed the petrol and diesel prices for Friday across four metro cities with effect from 6 am. The fuel prices are revised every day based upon global crude oil prices and the rate of the rupee.
In Chennai, petrol is sold at Rs 79.59 per litre. Petrol is bought for Rs 76.62 per litre in New Delhi, while it is Rs 79.39 in Kolkata. Also, in Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 84.06 per litre. On Thursday, the petrol and diesel prices were reduced only in Delhi among the four metro cities.
Diesel is sold at Rs 72.06 per litre in Chennai. In Delhi and Kolkata, diesel is priced at Rs 68.23 and Rs 70.84 per litre. Diesel costs Rs 72.44 per litre in Mumbai.
