The oil marketing companies on Friday increased the petrol and diesel prices for the second straight day after raising the prices for the first time on Thursday after 36 days.

 

While petrol prices have been hiked in the range of 14-15 paise in major cities, diesel prices rose in the range of 16-18 paise.


In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 78.82 per litre. In Mumbai and Delhi,  petrol is now priced at Rs 83.24 and Rs 75.71 per litre respectively. Petrol is sold Rs 78.53 per litre in Kolkata.


Diesel is priced at Rs 71.42 per litre. In Mumbai and Delhi, diesel prices were raised to Rs 71.79 and Rs 67.66 per litre respectively. Diesel costs Rs 70.05 per litre in Kolkata.


On Thursday, petrol prices were increased in the range of 16-17 paise, while diesel prices rose in the range of 10-12 paise.
