PETA India asks McDonald's and KFC to go vegan

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has reportedly urged fast-food chains like McDonald's, KFC and Burger King in India to go vegan. PETA has asked the chains to offer customers burgers without meat, egg and dairy products.

According to PETA, veganism is on the rise in India and hence, they wrote to the chains to consider providing options for vegans. While PETA approached KFC in person, thousands took to Twitter to request for a McVegan from McDonald's.

PETA India's CEO Manilal Valliyate reportedly said, "More and more people in India are going vegan, and it's high time that fast-food chains here responded to the booming demand by adding vegan options to their menus as they already have in the West. Consumers are more health-conscious and concerned about the impact of the meat, egg, and dairy industries on animals and the environment.”
