An 11-year-old Pakistani boy was sent back home on Wednesday after he crossed into India accidentally. The boy had reportedly crossed into India from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir four days before.

The Army identified Mohammad Abdullah on June 24 and immediately handed him over to the Jammu and Kashmir police. The police carried out the necessary formalities and ensured that Abdullah was taken back home.

According to a defence spokesperson, the boy was handed back on humanitarian grounds. Reportedly, Abdullah was sent back home with new clothes and sweets.
