On Wednesday, Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by the Pakistani Army during a shootout. According to reports, Pakistan on Thursday stated that it is willing to return back the Indian Air Force Pilot if leads to a de-escalation of the tense situation.

The IAF pilot went missing after an Indian aircraft shot down Pakistani fighter aircraft that targetted a military installation in India. Pakistan stated that Wing Commander Varthaman was in their custody and that he is being treated well.

In the latest turn of events, Pakistan clarified that they are willing to return back the piot. Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi reportedly said, "We are willing to return the captured Indian pilot if it leads to de-escalation. Prime Minister Imran Khan is ready to hold a telephonic conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

Qureshi also added that they received a dossier and will soon examine it. This update comes after US President Donald Trump spoke about the issue at a press conference in Hanoi and assured that there will be decent news soon.
