A newly-married couple was looted and the bride was killed by four criminals on Friday night near Mataur village in Uttar Pradesh. The couple was reportedly returning home along with relatives on National Highway 58 at 11 pm when they were stopped by the thieves. Allegedly, the bride was wearing artificial jewellery which was mistaken for gold. In an attempt to threaten her into give them the jewellery, the criminals pulled the trigger in haste.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. According to reports, the criminals' car was identified from a CCTV footage and four teams have been formed to catch them.
