Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday said announced that Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) and NEET examinations will be conducted twice a year. Javadekar said that the newly-formed National Testing Agency (NTA) will now conduct the exams. The exams will be computer-based.
The minister also reportedly said that the students can appear both the times in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the best will be counted for admission.
The HRD minister announced that the NTA would now conduct the national-level examinations - NET, NEET, JEE (Mains).
While JEE (Mains) will be held twice a year, in January and April, NEET will take place in February and May. Also, National Eligibility Test (NET) will be conducted in December.
