According to reports, the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has set new guidelines for CBSE schools in India to not use grades and scores for students from class 1 to 8 anymore. Report cards should not carry scores, as it can induce inferiority complex within students.
Reportedly, teachers will also not be allowed to write bad comments like poor and dull on students' report cards. These changes will come under the guidelines of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE). NCERT has already shared the new guidelines with all states and is waiting for feedback.
Report cards of students will be maintained by teachers in the form of books. Progress will be maintained for the students in stages.
