Forest officials rescued an elephant calf that had wandered in Munnar. Munnar often sees elephant calves being separated from its herd. Upon seeing the elephant calf, vehicles were stopped to ensure it didn't get scared.

As of now, the calf is in the custody of the forest officials who are waiting for the mother to come in search of the five-month-old baby. Else, plans are afoot to take the calf into the forest in order to be reunited with its herd.
