A special court in Mumbai on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Kingfisher owner Vijay Mallya for swindling money from a consortium of banks. A non-bailable warrant was filed by Special Judge MS Azmi after a fresh charge sheet was filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Mallya is the key accused of laundering Rs 6,000 crore from a consortium of banks. The State Bank of India (SBI) represented all the banks and filed a case against him.
The court also issued summons to Mallya's firms - Kingfisher Airlines and United Breweries Holdings Ltd. It then adjourned the hearing to July 30.
