Hackers deposit Re 1 in TRAI chairman's account, post screenshots on Twitter
Home > India newsOn Saturday, Ram Sewak Sharma, the chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had posted his Aadhaar number on Twitter and challenged hackers to cause him harm. Following his challenge, ethical hackers used the number and leaked his personal information, including his mobile number, residential address and PAN number.
On Sunday, ethical hackers even admitted to having Sharma's bank account details. A few hackers even posted screenshots of them having sent Rs 1 to Sharma's account. The money was reportedly sent via Aadhaar-Enabled-Payment Services using Paytm and BHIM apps.
Twitter users reportedly warned the chairman that this ability to send money to his account can expose him to blackmail and money laundering.
