May 19 marked the end of the polling process for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Many who stood in line in the heat or traveled home to vote are nothing when compared to one voter who stood out among all of them.

He is the first voter of independent India who without fail voted this year too. According to Times Now report, he has been identified as Shyam Saran Negi who is 102-year-old and has voted in every election since the year 1951. This year too, Negi cast his vote from Kalpa, Himachal Pradesh in the last phase of polling.

On reaching the poling station, reporters gathered around him excited to know his views, he said; "I have never missed an opportunity to vote be it Lok Sabha, Assembly or the panchayat, News 18 reported.

Media reports further state that, this time he cast his 31st vote. He has voted in 17 parliamentary and 14 Assembly polls.
