After the court announced to ban plastic on Saturday, companies all over the city were forced to pay fines. Reportedly, McDonald's, Starbucks and Burger King were some of the few companies that had to pay up for using single-use plastic.
Nearly 250 members in blue uniforms went around the city's restaurants and shops to carry out inspections. According to reports, 132 outlets faced penalties for the use of plastic cutlery and straws in Mumbai.
