22-year-old woman burnt to death by man for not accepting love
Home > News Shots > India newsIn an act of vengeance, a 22-year-old woman was burnt alive by a man in Kerala's Thrissur city for refusing to accept his love. The woman, Neethu, was a student of Axis Engineering College at Kodakara, who was set on fire by Nidheesh, who had been pestering her with love requests for many days.
According to The News Minute (TNM), the horrifying incident took place around 7:00 am at Neethu's house when she and her grandmother were alone. She was stabbed before she was set on fire. Nidheesh came to meet Neethu in the morning and had a quarrel with her. Suddenly, Nidheesh poured petrol and set her on fire and tried to escape.
People from around her house came running hearing her cries, but she had passed away even before they arrived. According to the eye-witness, Nidheesh was caught by passers-by before he could flee from the scene and was handed over to the police.
Neethu lived with her aunt and grandparent as her mother had passed away a few years ago and her father had re-married before that. The body has been taken to Thrissur Medical College and further investigations are on.
