Disturbed Over Girlfriend's Engagement, Man Hangs Self; Goes Live On FB
Home > News Shots > India newsIn a shocking case, a 22-year-old youth from Uttar Pradesh's Agra district committed suicide as he was disturbed over his girlfriend's engagement to someone else.
Heartbroken over the matter, the man went live on Facebook while ending his life. The man has been identified as Shyam Sikarwar alias Raj.
As per India Today reports, Raj went to a temple in the Raybha village in Agra and took the extreme step by hanging himself in the premises of the temple on Saturday. He also went live on Facebook as many of his friends watched in shock.
In the four-minute-long video that went live on Facebook, Raj told the police to not hold anyone responsible for his death. He also pleaded with his family members to upload photos of his body online, India Today further reported.
Not only the video, Raj had also written a four-page long suicide note, where he apologised to his family and requested them to donate his organs. "I miss her and can't live without her. I can't bear the fact that she is getting married to someone else. The stress of losing her has affected me so much that I lost my job," he wrote in his suicide note.
Currently, the video of the suicide had been taken down and Raj's Facebook profile has been deactivated.
Highlighting over the issue, police officers told media that Raj's body was found hanging in the temple by locals. The police further investigated that he was unemployed and in depression. He had lost his job in a Gurgaon-based factory due to love failure.
