In a shocking incident, a Brazilian man was arrested from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi for allegedly smuggling cocaine worth ₹3 crore, which he had swallowed in the form of capsules.

In a statement issued by customs officials, the man was intercepted based on a tip-off after he arrived at the airport. A medical examination revealed that the man had swallowed 64 capsules containing 620 grams of a white-coloured powder. Later, a drug test confirmed that the white power was cocaine.

The incident is very similar to the one in the Tamil film 'Ayan', directed by KV Anand starring Suriya, Tamannah and Jagan. In the film, one of the characters Jagan smuggles drugs into Malaysia in a similar manner. The character swallows capsules filled with drugs to avoid being detected by customs officials.

This is the second significant seizure of narcotics in the form of capsules swallowed by passengers, by customs officials at the New Delhi international airport.
