Chilling! Man hangs child - daughter shoots video and begs to leave the boy

A disturbing case of murder and suicide surfaced in Bengaluru on Sunday where a man forcefully hung his 12-year-old son to a ceiling fan and convinced his wife to commit suicide, reports NDTV.

The video was shot by his 17-year-old daughter. In the video, it shows him forcefully hanging the boy from the ceiling fan as his wife and his daughter cry and move around. The daughter is heard pleading in Marathi to leave her brother alone. The video ends abruptly when her mother snatches the phone from her daughter’s hand. Police conjecture that she killed herself afterwards, reports News 18.

As per NDTV reports, the man is seen standing on a small table and tying what appears to be a bed sheet around the neck of his 12-year-old son, who does not offer any resistance. He then releases his grip until the boy becomes immobile.

Neighbours contacted the police after the 17-year-old girl informed them of the horror in morning. The police said they are yet to record the girl's statement.

News 18 reports that the couple ran into financial trouble after running a chit fund which incurred losses. They had borrowed money from private money lenders and when they failed to repay it, he and his wife decided to kill themselves and their 17-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son.

Initially he told the cops that it was Geetha who killed the son and later committed suicide. However, on investigation, police found that it was a mass suicide attempt. Suresh has been arrested and charged with murder and abetment to suicide.

"As per his statement to the police, the daughter stopped him when he was attempting to kill himself," said Abdul Wahad, DCP Whitefield.
