Man Orders Mobile Phone From Online Shopping Site; Gets Brick Instead
Home > India newsA man in Maharashtra has filed a complaint against a leading e-commerce platform for allegedly sending him a piece of brick instead of a mobile phone that he ordered, police said.
Gajanan Kharat told police officials that on October 9, he placed an order for a mobile phone from the shopping site and also paid Rs. 9,134 for it. Kharat later received a message from the site, saying that his product would be delivered in a week's time.
The man received a packet from the retailer last Sunday. However, when he opened it, he allegedly found a piece of brick inside it instead of the mobile handset. The man later called up the courier delivery person, who said that his job is to only deliver the parcel and not see what is inside.
Kharat later lodged a complaint against the e-commerce platform at the Harsul police station. The police official said that they have registered a case under IPC sections pertaining to cheating. An investigation in the case is underway, police added.
