Man beats wife, sends video to her brother demanding dowry

A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur on Thursday tied his wife to the roof with a piece of cloth and beat her and later sent the video to the woman’s brother on his mobile phone. Reports suggest that the accused, a salesman, did the act to extort an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh from his in-laws. The video purportedly shows the woman in green saree standing with her hands tied to a roof, while her one-year-old child is seen sitting before her in a cot. The police have filed an FIR and have launched a hunt for the man, reports added.
