Man beaten to death over suspected cow slaughter

One Riaz, a 45-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district was allegedly beaten to death by villagers on suspicion of cow slaughter. The incident took place late on Wednesday night when villagers attacked a group of men while accusing them of slaughtering a cow.

Riaz died on the spot while his 33-year-old friend Shakeel was seriously injured in the assault. The others in the group reportedly fled the spot. Following the incident, security has been beefed up in the area.
