A special court in Madhya Pradesh sentenced a 79-year-old retired professor, KN Agrawal and his 50-year-old daughter, Shaila Agrawal to life imprisonment for raping six orphaned girls in a shelter home. Reportedly, Shaila ran an NGO that operated the home. The girls aged from 10 to 17 have claimed that they have been raped by at least two individuals.
Agrawal was booked in 2016 after suspicions of rape rose when two girls tried to escape from the home. The girls alleged that they were made to do chores including giving a bath to one of the employees. Reportedly, one of the victims included a ten-year-old mentally challenged girl.
