With none evincing interest in taking over the operations of beleaguered airline Air India, the Aviation Secretary on Wednesday said that Central government will step in to take care of affairs. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government was keen to sell the loss-making, debt-ridden airline, and finalised plans in late March to divest a 76 per cent stake and offload about $5.1 billion of its debt. But the plan has hit a roadblock now with no takers.
