A 50-year-old farmer from Maharashtra committed suicide and blamed the central government in his suicide letter for his death. Shankar Bhaurao Chayre was under debt and owed Rs 1 lakh. Unable to get any benefits from the government's loan waiver scheme, he consumed poison and died.
Allegedly, the farmer's family refused to collect his body until they got to meet with the prime minister.
