Drunk youths kill cop after being scolded for loitering late at night

A Maharashtrian cop Shantilal Patel (55), was beaten to death with an iron rod by three drunk youths on the wee hours of Tuesday in Amravati district. Initial reports say that the youth who were in an inebriated condition were irked when the policeman questioned them about loitering late at night.
 

Though Patel was rushed to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The three assailants, in their early 20s, identified as Kedar Sarkate, Nayan Mandle and Milan Kholapure have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
