Two toddlers and nanny die after school van falls into pond

Two toddlers identified as Vidya Lakshmi and Adityan and their caretaker identified as Latha Unni died when the school van they were travelling in fell into a pond in Kochi on Monday evening at around 4.30 pm. 

The children were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. Upon hearing of the accident, locals rushed to the pond in a bid to save the children and others. One more child who was involved in the accident is reportedly not critical and receiving medical aid.
