In a bizarre incident, a thief returned the jewellery he stole from a house in Alappuzha, Kerala along with an apology letter.
According to reports from Times of India, Madhukumar had gone with his family to attend a function in Karuvatta. However, he had left the gate open. When he returned back on Tuesday he noticed nearly one sovereign of gold missing. Madhukumar lodged a complaint at the police station.
On Thursday morning, Madhukumar opened his front door to see his jewellery back along with an apology letter from the thief. The letter reportedly read, "Please forgive me. I took your ornaments following financial constraints. I will not repeat it. Please don’t approach the police against me."
Madhukumar later informed the police that they did not want to go ahead with the case.
