Two People Who Did Not Show Any Symptoms of COVID-19 Tested Positive; State In Action!
Home > News Shots > India newsIn a shocking case, two people, who earlier did not show any symptoms or signs of coronavirus have tested positive recently in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district. This district is about 100 km from Thiruvananthapuram.
Ever since the news has gone viral, the state has come into action and measures are being taken. According to a NDTV report, one of the patient, is a 60-year-old man who had traveled from Dubai while another patient, is a 19-year-old student who had travelled from Delhi.
While speaking to NDTV, District Collector PB Nooh said, "this is a warning sign. Thousands of innocent, unknown people might also have come in contact with these asymptomatic carriers. The fact that they passed their 14-day quarantine period, without showing any symptoms, is further alarming. This means, we still need to tread a cautious path."
Highlighting about each patient, the 60-year-old man had been under quarantine from March 19 to April 6. He took a flight from Sharjah to Thiruvananthapuram and traveled by road to his hometown.
While, the student had boarded a train from Delhi on March 15. She was admitted to the hospital on April 4 after she tested positive despite being asymptomatic.
India currently reports 4,421 cases, which includes 114 deaths. Taking a look at Kerala's cases, it has reported 327 patients so far and two deaths due to COVID-19.
