Fr Abraham Varghese and Fr Job Mathew of the quartet belonging to Malankara Orthodox Church accused of raping and molesting a woman using her confession to blackmail her moved the Kerala High Court on Tuesday seeking anticipatory bill.
According to reports, the court reportedly declined to pass an order asking the investigating team to not arrest the accused priests and posted the case for Monday.
Although the government counsel argued that a criminal case has been registered against the priests and that the nature of the allegations is serious, the counsel representing the priests reportedly argued that the woman has allegedly not raised any allegations of rape.
