Court orders test to find if youth is a transgender

In a rather controversial move, the Kerala high court on Monday ordered psychological and medical examinations of a 25-year-old. This was done after his mother moved a habeas corpus petition saying that her son, who has been under treatment for mood disorders, was being illegally detained by a gang of transgenders and is being forced to behave like one.

The move has run into controversy with several experts putting forth their opinions that there is no test to determine if a person is a transgender.
