Kerala: Bishop raped nun, cops tell court

Kerala police have told the High Court that Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal had indeed raped the nun, who had raised a complaint of sexual assault on him, on different dates from May 2014 to September 2016 using his dominance over her. 

Meanwhile, cops have issued summons to the Bishop while nuns have written to the Vatican expressing their regret and request for a speedy trial in the issue. The victim nun has also claimed that she was being offered Rs 5 crore in return for her silence on the issue. 

Meanwhile, the Bishop in question has denied all charges and said that he won't step down unless found guilty. He, further added that the nun had chosen to give a complaint against him to deflect attention from her extramarital affair.
