While the Kerala health department has its hands full with trying to contain the deadly Nipah virus, cops in the state seem to have their own worries with as many as seven arrested for spreading fake rumours by releasing and forwarding an audio message that falsely claims that the infection has swept in on into an additional district.
Cops arrested Vaishnav, Nimesh, Bivij, Diljith, Vishnudas, Fazaluddien and Muhammad Fazil for spreading panic about the disease, which has already caused its fair share of troubles in God’s Own Country.
Adding to the woes of a beleaguered health department is the fact that there is no vaccination available for the virus, which can be fatal in most of the cases and treatment is through isolation and intensive medical care.
