4 priests booked for using woman's confession to rape her

The crime branch of Kerala has booked four priests - Fr Abraham Varghese, Fr Job Mathew, Fr Johnson Mathew and Fr Jaise George - owing allegiance to Malankara Orthodox church on charges of molesting and raping a woman after she confided in them personal details of an affair. 

The case was booked based on the aggrieved woman's statement who alleged that the priests had been raping her for years using her confession to threaten and blackmail her. 

The survivor's husband has also alleged that despite taking the matter to the Chruch, inaction prevailed. Instead of proceeding with disciplinary action, the Church had merely suspended the priests in question.
