Godman Asaram Bapu and two others convicted in rape case

A special SC/ST court in Jodhpur on Wednesday convicted self-styled godman Asaram Bapu and two of his aides in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl in August 2013. The judge visited the Jodhpur central jail, where the accused were lodged, and delivered the verdict inside the jail premises. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana, where the godman has a huge following.
