One child dies, 100 ill after mid-day meal

In an unfortunate incident, which yet again brings to fore laxity at schools, one student of Upgraded Middle School in Jharkhand district died and 100 others, fell ill allegedly, after consuming mid-day meal, reports NDTV.

Other than the unfortunate death of one student, all the other students have recovered and are back to school after getting treated at the local Sadar Hospital after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting on Wednesday.

The students allegedly fell ill after taking their meal comprising rice, paneer and potato curry. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
