Jharkhand Election Results: BJP fails to Get Majority; Congress-JMM all Set to Form Government!
Home > News Shots > India newsThe Congress-JMM-RJD alliance is heading towards majority in the Jharkhand Assembly elections. As on 7 pm, results of 22 constituencies have been declared out of which JMM has won 8 seats, BJP 9, Congress 4 and AJSU 1.
Conceding defeat, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Raghubar Das said, "It is not BJP's defeat, it is my defeat." As per the latest trends, Das is trailing in Jamshedpur (East) by a margin of 10, 017 votes against independent candidate Saryu Roy.
Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said in the morning that JMM's working president Hemant Soren will be the next Cheif Minister of Jharkhand. "There is going to be a clean sweep for Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) in this election. We have fought elections under the leadership of Hemant Soren. He is going to be the Chief Minister."
Following the trends, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, I thank the people of Jharkhand for having given @BJP4India the opportunity to serve the state for many years. I also applaud the hardworking Party Karyakartas for their efforts."
"We will continue serving the state and raising people-centric issues in the times to come."
Home Minister Amit Shah said, "We respect the mandate of the people of Jharkhand," and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve them for five years.
