International flights have been suspended since the end of March in India as the number of coronavirus cases began increasing in the country. However, several relaxations have been made to the lockdown in the past two months.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Monday, said that despite the unlocking which is meant to safely revert to normalcy, international flights will remain suspended until September 30. "However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis," read a circular released by DGCA.

The DGCA also added that the suspension will not affect the operation of international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA.

Special international flights under the Vande Bharat Mission have been operating since May. Air-bubble arrangements with other countries had also started from July.
