Passengers of a Delhi-Bangalore IndiGo flight were made to wait for more than seven hours due to unavailability of staff. The flight was to take off at 10:40 pm on Sunday, but remained at the Delhi airport until the early hours of Monday.

Passengers took to Twitter to express their anger at the poor service of IndiGo. Some even posted photos of passengers sitting on the runway. A passenger wrote, "DEL-BLR 6E2977 delayed by over 7 hours (22:40 to 6:40). Kept us like cattle in the bus. And then like dogs on the asphalt of the runway. Peanuts and frooti offered at 6:00 am. Not allowed to get on flight."

Due to an extreme dust storm in Delhi on Sunday, nearly 70 flights had to be diverted from the airport. An IndiGo spokesperson reportedly said, "The flight 6E 2977 started boarding at 2:30 am. After boarding and prolonged waiting due to severe weather conditions, the pilots went out of flight duty time. Therefore, a new crew was arranged. This flight, therefore, had an estimated departure time, i.e. 5:30 am this morning." However, she could not explain why the passengers were made to wait inside the flight for such long hours.
