An Indigo plane from Kolkata and an Air Deccan plane from Agartala averted a mid-air collision in the Bangladesh airspace after coming dangerously close to each other. During the incident, which took place on May 2, Traffic Collision Avoidance System or TCAS generated a warning and alerted the pilots of the two planes after they allegedly breached the mandatory separation limit.
IndiGo Airbus A320 plane to Agartala and Air Deccan's Beechcraft 1900D to Kolkata were just about 700 meters away from each other, sources reportedly said. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is probing the incident, they reportedly added.
