A 20-year-old Indian student fell to his death after trying to take a selfie in Australia. Ankit was with his friends at The Gap in Australia and attempted to take a selfie on the rocks on Thursday. However, Ankit lost his balance and fell 40 metres down into the sea.
His body had to be retrieved from the water using a helicopter. One of his friends was quoted as saying, "He was just very careful, just to take a picture and he just slipped down there, on the hill."
Dominic Wood, Great Southern District superintendent reportedly said, "A young male has gone into the water, and sadly lost their life. This is such a tragic event. All I know at this stage is that there is a small group, we think of about five young adults, they were down here within the vicinity of the platform behind me around the rocks.”
According to reports, Ankit's parents are yet to be informed.
