Twists Revealed in Hyderabad Murder Accused Encounter Case
Home > News Shots > India newsThe four suspects who were involved in the Hyderabad Veterinarian doctor rape and murder case were shot dead on December 6 by the Hyderabad police in an encounter. Mohammed Areef, J Naveen, J Shiva and Chennakesavalu abducted Disha (name changed as per the Supreme court directives to protect the identity of victims in sexual assault cases) on November 27, sexually assaulted her and then burnt her body.
The case sent shock waves across the states where people protested to deliver justice to the accused. After the encounter of the 4 suspects, the Supreme Court appointed a three-member commission led by retired judge V S Sirpurkar to investigate the encounter. Meanwhile, the police revealed several twists saying that the accused had committed many rapes and murder before Disha.
“Once we took them into custody, we began considering their role in 15 cases of women being raped and burnt in Telangana Karnataka on the highways. Two of the accused, Areef and Chennakeshavulu confessed to 9 offences of rape and murder," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by TOI.
“The duo claimed that they sexually abused many women, including prostitutes and transgenders, on the highways. But they claimed that in 9 offences the women were killed and then burnt like the veterinarian," the reports added.
A team of Cyberabad police have been appointed to investigate the crimes on Telengana-Karnataka border areas with the forensic reports.
