A man from Hyderabad who had reportedly adopted a Muslim girl, who was a victim of the twin bomb blasts that rocked the city in 2007, alleged that he was stabbed by a person 16 times. Papalal Ravikanth, who is still recovering in the hospital, alleges that he was stabbed by one, Bal Kishan and a few others on June 1.
Ravikanth states that he was stabbed in the legs, stomach and chest and the doctor had to put 60 stitches on his body. Ravikanth alleges that he was stabbed for adopting the Muslim girl. He reportedly said, "We allow her to follow her religion. She brought happiness to our house and leads the other children in studies."
However, Ravikanth's story was dismissed by the police, who stated that there were cases filed against him for indulging in fights with the locals.
