Cop Touches Woman Doctor 'Inappropriately!': Viral Video

On Wednesday, students of Dr BRKR Government Ayurveda Hospital were protesting in front of Government Nizamia General Hospital , Charminar against Telangana Government’s proposal to shift their hospital to another place due to renovation works. When Police intervened to dismiss the protest, a constable named Parmesh was caught on camera running his hands over the sides of a female docter and pinching her while she was being dragged away.
The video went viral on social media and people started criticizing the police department for assigning male police officers to disperse female doctors. Following which, an official inquiry has been set up.
“We are verifying whether the act was intentional or unintentional. While performing duty there’s a possibility of such a thing. We are verifying everything, but the circulation of the video is wrong. I request everyone to not share the video,” Hyderabad DCP Ambed Kishor Jha was quoted as saying by the News Minute.
Speaking to the New Indian Express, the woman doctor who got sexually harassed told, “ We sat in dharna after our requests to not shift the hospital were constantly ignored. The dharna mostly constituted female students. When we refused to move, the police including female constables dragged us out from the spot. However, there were men who were inappropriately touching and dragging us out. That is when we started shouting and lashing out.”
