According to reports, Goa witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday and the meteorological department has reportedly warned of an intense downpour for the next two days. Many areas were flooded, while water-logging affected vehicle traffic. The regional weather department has reportedly advised people to abstain from outdoor activities.

Reportedly, the flight operations at the Goa airport remain suspended since 1.30 pm on Wednesday. Sixteen flights have been diverted so far due to bad weather and poor visibility.

Normal life in the coastal state has been hit as streets are inundated. “The maximum intensity of rainfall is expected from today to June 22,” the weather department said adding that ‘extremely heavy rainfall’ is very likely over isolated places of North and South Goa districts today and tomorrow.
