Police detain MLA Jignesh Mevani at airport

Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani was detained by the police at the Jaipur Airport and was allegedly not allowed to enter Rajasthan's Nagaur district on Sunday. The politician took to his official Twitter handle to express his shock. He said, "Now the DCP is saying u r not allowed to move around even in Jaipur and they are forcing me to fly back to Ahmedabad and also not allowing to hold even a press conference…this is shocking."

Allegedly, Mevani was to give a talk at the Nagaur district about the Indian Constitution and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. According to Mevani, he was stopped by the police due to orders from higher authorities.
