Police Take Goat Under Custody for One Night!

According to reports, on Saturday evening the goat gave a slip to its owner and went missing. The owner, identified as Deepak Valmiki searched for his goat throughout Saturday and could not trace it. When he went to Kotwali police station to lodge a missing complaint, he was surprised to see his goat inside the police station.

Apparently the goat was seen roaming inside the judge’s bunglaw and the police nabbed it.

The police, however, claimed that the goat was kept in custody for its own safety. "The goat was seen roaming on the street and we thought someone would kill it for meat, so we brought it to the police station and handed it to its owner on Sunday morning," SHO Shiv Singh Yadav was quoted as saying by India Today.

The police handed over the goat to Valmiki on Sunday afternoon after some questioning. "I had almost given up, thinking that my goat must have been killed, and had gone to the police station only to inform the police. I was surprised when I saw the goat at the Kotwali. After verifying that the goat belongs to me, it was handed over to me with a warning that I should not allow it go astray in future," he said.
