Former PM Vajpayee's mortal remains brought to BJP headquarters, state funeral at 4 pm
Home > India newsOn Thursday, Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at 93 at AIIMS, Delhi. Vajpayee was admitted on June 11 due to urinary tract infection and on August 15 his health deteriorated.
Vajpayee's mortal remains were brought to the BJP headquarters in Delhi from his residence on Friday at around 11 am. Party workers can pay their tribute to the till 1 pm after which his body will be taken for cremation at 4 pm.
Vajpayee will be laid to rest at Smriti Sthal on the banks of Yamuna. It is also being discussed to construct a memorial in his honour near Raj Ghat.
Seven-day state mourning was announced by the Centre all over India. The national flag has to fly at half-mast for seven days.
